Rob Welch | MSN, FNP, CRNO
Rob has been an integral part of the Nevada Retina team since 2000. Rob was born and raised in the Reno-Sparks area. He has obtained his Bachelor’s Degrees in both Biochemistry and Nursing and was given the opportunity and support of Nevada Retina Associates to advance his studies, whereby obtaining a Master’s of Family Nurse Practitioner Degree.
Rob works in a collaborative manner with the doctors of Nevada Retina Associates in providing outstanding diagnostics and management of a variety of retinal conditions. He has received specialized retina specific continuing education by participating in national symposiums and conferences. Rob is an active member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses and has earned certification as a Registered Nurse of Ophthalmology (CRNO). Like other nurse practitioners, Rob works closely with your referring specialist as a conduit of communication and management with our doctors and other medical specialists in the community, including your primary care physician in the care of your ocular condition.
Rob is an avid sportsman and enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and three children. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, and supporting various athletic events at the University of Nevada.
Josh Stoycoff | Technician, COA, COSA
Dr. Nielsen’s primary technician, often sees patients along with Dr. Nielsen.
Josh assists Dr. Nielsen in procedures, takes notes and helps the patient feel more comfortable. Continuing education is important to him. He has earned certifications as MA (Medical Assistant), COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) and COSA (Certified Ophthalmic Surgery Assistant).
Josh is married with two children, plays guitar and loves music.
